Kappa Delta Pi
Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) is an international honor society and professional association for education majors (EDU.AS.). Founded in 1911 at the University of Illinois, KDP has expanded to include over 600 chapters and more than 45,000 members worldwide. Our chapter, ATZ, was established in 2016 at Middlesex College and has earned multiple local and national awards, including the Bronze and Silver Celebration of Teaching awards, as well as chapter programming awards for community service and literacy. In August of 2024, our advisor, Professor McMahon, was awarded Regional Counselor of the Year. We are proud to support future educators through opportunities in professional development, community service, and social events throughout the academic year. Membership is open to education students with a minimum 3.0 GPA, at least 18 completed credits (including 6 in education), and a B- or higher in all education courses. Our chapter hosts events such as résumé and substitute teaching workshops, education-focused information sessions, community service projects, including presenting at Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey's Annual Teen Conference, and social gatherings, including trivia nights and meet-and-greets. We are committed to developing exceptional teachers who foster thriving communities and create lasting opportunities through equitable, high-quality education for all.
